This position oversees Emergency Department operations within a well-established acute care hospital serving a diverse community population. The ED supports a steady volume of patient visits annually and offers a full spectrum of emergency and trauma services. ABOUT THIS OUTSTANDING CAREER OPPORTUNITY
- Provide operational and clinical leadership for a busy Emergency Department
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, and day-to-day department operations
- Foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture focused on safety, quality, and service excellence
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, and professional development of nursing staff
- Ensure competency validation, staff education, and ongoing clinical development in partnership with education teams
- Monitor and improve key quality and performance metrics, including patient satisfaction, throughput, and clinical outcomes
- Drive process improvement initiatives and participate in quality committees and performance improvement planning
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
- Support shared governance and staff engagement through councils and advisory committees
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, EMS partners, and hospital leadership
- Participate in leadership rounding, environment of care rounds, and safety initiatives
- Manage department budgets, FTEs, and resource allocation to meet operational targets
- Promote evidence-based practice, clinical inquiry, and continuous improvement

Requirements
EXPERIENCE | EDUCATION | LICENSURE | CERTIFICATIONS
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ASN considered with experience
Master’s degree (MSN) preferred - Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience required (Emergency Department experience strongly preferred)
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a hospital setting required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 60 days of hire
- TNCC, NRP, and CPI training preferred (or obtained within the required timeframe)
- Certification in Emergency Nursing or Nursing Leadership preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Ability to manage operations in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
